A partir de agora, as quadrilhas juninas serão reconhecidas como manifestação da cultura nacional. O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sancionou na sexta-feira (21) a Lei 14.900, que garante esse reconhecimento. A proposta que deu origem à lei (PL 1.227/2023) foi aprovada pelo Senado em 21 de maio, antes de seguir para a sanção presidencial.
A Lei 14.555, de 2023, reconhecia as festas juninas como manifestação da cultura nacional, mas não incluía as quadrilhas. A nova lei altera isso, incorporando especificamente as quadrilhas, que têm origem em danças de salão europeias e se popularizaram no Brasil, integrando elementos das culturas locais e da diversidade regional.
Para a senadora Daniella Ribeiro (PP-PB), relatora do projeto no Senado, a quadrilha junina é um elemento central das festas juninas, celebradas em várias partes do Brasil.
