Jaqueline Lopes: Lauro, é um prazer conversar com você. Sua jornada no meio ambiente e nos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável da ONU é inspiradora. Como tudo começou?
Lauro Nunes: Obrigado, Jaqueline. É um prazer estar aqui. Minha jornada começou em 14 Junho de 1992 na ECO 92, Agenda 21 no Rio de Janeiro, onde estiveram 179 países, quando fui convidado pela Dra. Josilda Moura para uma reunião na Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Essa experiência me abriu os olhos para a importância das questões ambientais e do desenvolvimento sustentável.
Jaqueline Lopes: Que início impressionante. Como você vê o desafio do marketing multifacetado da rede e como a ONU apoia seu trabalho?
Lauro Nunes: Sem dúvida, o marketing multifacetado da rede é um desafio, mas a ONU tem um programa de afiliados voluntários, como é o meu caso, que permite um trabalho mais amplo por todo o mundo. Esse programa nos capacita a divulgar informações cruciais e promover ações que contribuem para os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável.
Jaqueline Lopes: Você mencionou que é correspondente da ONU. Como essa posição influencia seu trabalho e sua visão sobre os desafios globais?
Lauro Nunes: Ser correspondente da ONU me dá acesso a informações privilegiadas e a uma rede global de especialistas. Isso me permite entender melhor os complexos desafios que enfrentamos e relatar de forma mais precisa e contextualizada. Além disso, essa posição me permite ver de perto as iniciativas e os esforços internacionais para alcançar os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável.
Jaqueline Lopes: Quais são os temas que mais te tocam e por quê?
Lauro Nunes: A mudança climática é um tema que me toca profundamente. É um problema urgente e global que afeta todos nós. A ONU tem trabalhado incansavelmente para alertar sobre os perigos e promover ações concretas. Outro tema que me interessa é a erradicação da pobreza. É inaceitável que, em pleno século XXI, ainda haja tanta desigualdade e privação.
Jaqueline Lopes: Com tantos objetivos, como você prioriza suas reportagens e o que você espera alcançar com seu trabalho?
Lauro Nunes: Priorizo reportagens que mostrem soluções práticas e inovadoras. Acredito que é importante não apenas destacar os problemas, mas também mostrar caminhos para resolvê-los. Espero que meu trabalho inspire as pessoas a agir e a pressionar por mudanças políticas e sociais.
Jaqueline Lopes: Você também tem uma trajetória política significativa. Pode nos contar um pouco sobre suas experiências como candidato e suas pretensões para 2026?
Lauro Nunes: Claro. Em 2014, fui candidato a deputado federal pelo PT do B, usando o slogan “Laurinho, o Amigo”. Na época, me destaquei por minha proximidade com o eleitorado e por minhas propostas focadas no bem-estar da população. Em 2022, concorri novamente, desta vez pelo Partido da Mulher Brasileira. Hoje, sou filiado ao Partido Verde, onde defendo negócios viáveis e ambientalmente sustentáveis.
Questionado sobre minhas pretensões políticas para 2026, sorrio e digo: “Se eu vir, trarei meu slogan da campanha de 2014: ‘Laurinho, o Amigo’, na ocasião eu estava filiado no partido hoje, Avante, antes PT do B 7089.” Acredito que é possível conciliar o desenvolvimento econômico com a preservação ambiental, e minhas propostas sempre levarão em consideração essa dualidade. Para alcançar essa nova meta hoje conto com à ajuda do Partido Verde.
Jaqueline Lopes: Quais são os próximos passos para você, tanto profissionalmente quanto pessoalmente, em relação a essas causas?
Lauro Nunes: Profissionalmente, pretendo continuar a cobrir e divulgar as iniciativas que promovem a sustentabilidade e o desenvolvimento. Pessoalmente, estou envolvido em projetos locais de conservação e educação ambiental. Acredito que a mudança começa em casa, e quero ser um exemplo vivo do que defendo.
